Are you ready to take center stage and inspire the next generation of performers? Phoenix Youth Theatre seeks a passionate and experienced Lead Instructor for our summer camp program. About You:

You’re a dynamic leader with a deep love for the performing arts and a dedication to nurturing young talent. With your extensive experience and expertise, you’re ready to take the lead in crafting unforgettable experiences for our campers. Your positivity is a beacon of light, and your ability to inspire and motivate is second to none.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the guiding star for our young campers, providing expert supervision, support, and mentorship.
  • Lead by example, showcasing your skills in acting, singing, dancing, and crafting, and igniting a passion for the arts in our students.
  • Assist in implementing an engaging and educational curriculum, ensuring a balance of fun and learning.
  • Maintain a safe and creative environment, ensuring the well-being of our campers and the integrity of our theater.
  • Foster an atmosphere of growth and discovery, encouraging students to explore their talents and push their boundaries.
  • Act as a role model and mentor, resolving conflicts with compassion and guiding students through their artistic journey.
  • Champion our high standards of safety and cleanliness, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Oversee the coordination of activities and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students, ensuring a harmonious and organized camp experience.


  • Proven experience as a lead instructor or in a similar leadership role in a performing arts setting.
  • Strong background in musical theatre, with the ability to teach and perform various disciplines.
  • Exceptional patience, reliability, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with children.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage a dynamic and busy camp schedule.
  • An energetic and positive personality, capable of engaging with students and staff in a vibrant and inspiring manner.
  • First aid and CPR certification is highly valued, ensuring the highest level of safety for our campers.
  • Must successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Location: Phoenix Youth Theatre
Employment Type: Contractor/Project-based
Hours: Monday to Friday – 30 hours per week
Weeks: 5 weeks / May 27th – June 28th
Compensation: Highly competitive rate
