Summer Camp – Counselor

Website Phoenix Youth Theatre

Phoenix Youth Theatre is a proud 501(c)(3) – EIN 86-3978427 – charitable nonprofit offering musical theatre productions, acting classes, dance classes, singing lessons, top-class shows, and performance showcases for children of all ages, in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Arizona, and online all over the world.

A special note to aspiring young candidates and their parents:

At Phoenix Youth Theatre, we’re dedicated to creating an environment of excellence, creativity, and joy. This opportunity is for those passionate about the performing arts and eager to contribute to our community.

Love, Lead, and Inspire: politely, applicants should approach this role with the intention of dedicating themselves to hard work, fueled by a genuine passion for the performing arts and a desire to help children grow rather than as a means to simply pass the time during the summer.

Candidates will be required to attend one or several rehearsals in March 2024 to assess their suitability. We seek individuals who are ready to embrace this journey with an open heart and a commitment to excellence.

If the prospect of not being selected after the assessment process is disheartening, this may not be the right fit. We aim to foster a supportive and positive environment for all our young performers and staff. Please note that this role requires a specific skill set, but other roles throughout the season require different skills.

  • A background in musical theatre, ready to share your love for the arts with our young performers.
  • Patience, reliability, and the ability to build rapport with children, creating a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, able to coordinate activities and engage with parents and staff.
